Sports

The children at The Willows Garden and Park enjoy an expansive outdoor play area featuring a climbing wall, sensory garden, bike track, mud kitchen, swings, and jungle gyms. They participate in weekly yoga sessions and gym activities.

Meanwhile, our Primaries benefit from a structured sports programme led by Kick-ups coaches focusing on fitness, coordination and ball skills. Activities include soccer, cricket, hockey and touch rugby, with soccer and basketball being firm favourites. Sports matches are friendly and non-competitive.

In addition to structured sports, children engage in hands-on activities such as gardening in their veggie patch and nature walks along the nearby Braamfontein Spruit. They also participate in river clean-ups, fostering a connection with the environment.

Culture

Montessori Cultural curriculum expands a child’s understanding of their world and fostering respect for its diversity of people, as well as enhancing their collective responsibility for taking care of their world.

We celebrate days of significance in our calendar, for example Chinese New Year, Diwali, Yom Kippur, World Peace Day, Heritage Day, Arbor Week, etc.

During ‘Free Flow’ sessions children participate in collective games and activities, such as chess, cards and construction games
